Since Gavin Newsom is a guest blogger on Huffington Post, he doesn't get fact-checked. They just let him steal credit for other's ideas.

Gavin and Tom in happy daze.

Gavin Newsom is no education mayor.

But by continually stealing credit for other people’s ideas, he is trying to position himself as strong on education.

This time, he’s stealing credit as a guest blogger on Huffington Post.

In San Francisco, we have a robust rainy day fund. We drew down on our reserves to make sure not a single teacher in San Francisco was laid off…

It’s true that the city has this rainy day fund. But the mayor of San Francisco has no control over the schools or the education system. The fund wasn’t even Gavin’s idea.

In fact, this “robust rainy day fund” was the idea of then Supervisor Tom Ammiano, a former public school teacher, and today a state assemblyman.

I guess the man-child mayor thinks that if he associates himself with something positive, or says something often enough, people will believe him.

Well, just because you say something doesn’t mean it’s true.

Newsom's only direct involvement in schools management has been an attempt to illegally pressure district administrators.

Gavin Newsom loves to take credit for San Francisco’s schools improvements even though the Mayor has very little influence or power over public school matters.

The San Francisco Board of Education is an independently elected body that has jurisdiction over public education, not the Mayor.

But Gavin lives on a fantasy island where any school improvement is a result of his leadership. He has nothing to do with our schools. In fact, he’s using them as a public toilet.

San Francisco’s school district has sued the city, claiming Mayor Gavin Newsom’s appointees have tried to turn the district into a dumping ground for laid off city workers.

According to allegations spelled out in a lawsuit filed in San Francisco Superior Court last Monday and reported in SF Weekly, Newsom’s staff has repeatedly ordered the school district to replace current school workers with laid off city employees. The school district says it’s Newsom’s staff who are violating the law.

Under the state’s constitution, school districts are separate agencies, managed by independent school boards, and not subject to control by mayors, county supervisors, or other municipal officials.

If the school district’s legal complaint is accurate, however, the mayor’s only direct involvement in schools’ management has been an attempt to illegally pressure administrators into replacing their own staff with unwanted city workers.

In other words, Gavin Newsom is no civil service reformer.

Newsom's gubernatorial campaign launch video is full of deceit -- he steals credit for others ideas -- including universal health care.

Gavin stealing credit from then Supervisor Tom Ammiano.

Did I get you with that sex headline? Well, there’s no sex in Gavin Newsom’s gubernatorial bid launch video but their are plenty of lies and it’s on YouTube so there you go.

Gavin steals credit for Supervisor Tom Ammiano’s hard work on universal health care (among other things). That’s right, he lied on his YouTube resume. Can’t you lose your job for that?

But don’t take our word for it, the Bay Guardian has a little write up and some clever person did a nice job fact-checking the video.

That’s not enough lie for you?

In the opening segment of the three-minute YouTube clip, a man who is implied to be a Latino immigrant stands in front of his daughter and proclaims, in Spanish, that San Francisco schools are improving.

Doesn’t sound bad, right?

Well, turns out he was a ringer who wasn’t what he was presented to be in the video.

WTF?

When future campaign videos come out, can we trust that the people speaking in the video are not actors or people presenting themselves as someone they are not?

Seems like Gavin’s campaign videos mimic his entire political career and campaign — highly scripted, lots of acting, and presenting your record as Mayor in a overly positive way that doesn’t reflect reality.
