It’s weird, but people get angry about toxic waste in their backyards. In America, that probably means you are poor and are a person of color. Right?
At town hall meetings these poisoned denizens sometimes raise their voices, ask pointed and unforgiving questions, and generally make a scene for the cameras. This isn’t good when you are running for governor.
Newsom’s audience was asked to write down their queries. That allowed Newsom to read the cards — and effectively sidestep the Bayview (toxic dust) protesters who in recent meetings have aimed to dominate the discussion on their issue.
The solution to these pesky black folks? Hire extra security to shut them out and screen their questions, and figure out the political retribution.
